This time of year is my time to sit down with a cuppa and reflect - to see what needs to be released, what is to be kept and improved and what is to be brought in to my life. I start by asking myself about 20 questions in a space of quiet reflection (see http://www.healyourlife.com/it-s-a-new-year from Louise Hay). Even though I have studied and practiced Louise Hay's work for over 15 years, been teaching it for several years now and have vastly increased how much I love and believe in myself, yet again I am astounded at the power of a good question! Because the very first question had this response tumbling out of me... Q: "What shall I now release from my life?"
A: "I now release the belief that I am not, and never will be good enough." But it was the next bit of my response that hit me: A: "By 'good enough' I mean...
Wow! I guess that’s all the ways that, at some time a long time ago, I concluded that I had to excel and perform to be OK in other people’s eyes! I AM enough. I know this. I know it deeply. It’s just that those old, broken records still try to play in my mind and the fact that this came up in response to the question just tells me that this particular broken record is still playing, and needs a bit more work. I'm confident I'm now ready to do it because if I wasn't I don't think I would have got that answer. And I just wanted you to know that you’re not alone if you're feeling like you're never enough either - together we can work on loving and accepting ourselves just as we are every day! So now I know that this year I am going to be releasing (even more than ever before) the idea that I'm not (and never will be) good enough. AWESOME!! Note to self and anybody else who's interested: keep giving yourself love and support in this area of life – and remember that even if you lowered the achievement bar all the way to the floor – You are STILL GOOD ENOUGH! I'd love to hear your thoughts on being good enough, or the things that would be on your 'good enough' list. Feel free to comment here! Email Liz to MAKE A BOOKING or ASK A QUESTION.
