You’ve heard of Mindfulness. It gets described a lot of different ways, but to us mindfulness means the ability to direct your attention to what you want to direct it to - so you can notice what’s going on (both inside and outside of yourself) and experience the reality of the moment (the wonderful and the difficult) without fear or judgement; thus discovering and embracing both your humanity and your and life’s wonder.
When we are Mindful we cultivate awareness about our self and about life - about what is REALLY going on for us eg negative thinking, unexpressed emotions or physical sensations that we would benefit from attending to. If we can be aware of those things without treating them as bad, and see that they are not WHO WE ARE but rather a product of our experiences, we not only end up with more clarity, but we also sow the seeds of self- acceptance and peace.
