What is Life Coaching?

Life Coaching is goal- oriented, one to one mentoring for individuals who want help to navigate life challenges and changes. At The Reflection Zone, we love to support you get insight into the real obstacles to change, to clarify you goals, to develop empowered behaviours, and focus your energy in the direction of your desired outcome. And throughout the whole process, we teach you how to accept, appreciate and advocate for yourself.

Why work with a Life Coach? Have you ever wondered why some people seem to have better health or energy, are more successful or just seem to have things more together than others? There is no single answer to why this happens, because life is complex (as are we) but we know that part of the answer lies in how we think about the stuff that has and is happening to us. Your habitual thoughts can either be ‘positive’ (helpful, calming, uplifting and physically beneficial), or they can be ‘negative’ (limiting, stress-inducing, demoralizing and physically detrimental). The name for how you think about things is “Mindset”. ​

Your Mindset is not fixed. If you can develop the ability to identify what you’re thinking, know how to work with the mental hindrances you’ve developed and have a willingness to change you can cultivate new mental patterns that are healing and enable you to experience life in a completely different way.

My one-to-one Coaching  incorporates a system developed by one of the pioneers of mindset management: Louise Hay. Her focus on positive thinking, and her propositions about the way our thoughts affect our physical health have been transformational for millions of people. We know healing (whether emotional, mental or physical) has to occur through a process where our mind and body are enabled to start responding in a healthier way than they have been via the kind of messages WE are giving them.  We know that a negative self-view and poor wellbeing are intimately connected – usually the result of thinking they we are somehow inadequate, or undeserving of adequate self care. By teaching you how to have a different mindset about yourself and life, you – and your body - can experience great, beneficial change. 
 
Note: It's important to note that, healing – wholeness - is different to “cure” too. The truth is that we can heal even while we may still be sick because of developing the capacity to see our self – and our body – with love and acceptance. In my experience, this is one of the hardest things we can ever do – to have peace about and feel respect for a body which may appear to be failing us. But it is entirely possible.  

As with the body, so too with the mind: relinquishing the habit of self-sabotage and replacing it with tenderness, compassion and respect opens the door to incredible results.

Pregnancy and Birth Debriefing
