Life Coaching
Life Coaching is goal- oriented, one to one mentoring for individuals who want help to navigate life challenges and changes. At The Reflection Zone, we love to support you get insight into the real obstacles to change, to clarify you goals, to develop empowered behaviours, and focus your energy in the direction of your desired outcome. And throughout the whole process, we teach you how to accept, appreciate and advocate for yourself.

Why work with a Life Coach? Have you ever wondered why some people seem to have better health or energy, are more successful or just seem to have things more together than others? There is no single answer to why this happens, because life is complex (as are we) but we know that part of the answer lies in how we think and feel about the stuff that has and is happening to us. Habitual thoughts can either be ‘positive’ (helpful, calming, compassionate, uplifting and physically beneficial), or they can be ‘negative’ (limiting, stress-inducing, demoralizing and physically detrimental). The name for how you think about things is “Mindset”. ​

Your Mindset is not fixed. If you can develop the ability to identify what you’re thinking, know how to work with the mental hindrances you’ve developed and have a willingness to change you can cultivate new mental patterns that are healing and enable you to experience life in a completely different way - and to feel whole.

My one-to-one Coaching  incorporates a variety of systems aimed at encouraging better mindset management, self compassion, ability to navigate conflict, capacity to have difficult conversations, identify compelling personal goals,  self and somatic awareness, emotional intelligence, identifying the difference between self - sabotage and self-protection and more.
All of these things contribute to how we think and act, and benefit how we feel about ourselves and our trajectory through life.  We know that a critical or disempowered self-view and poor wellbeing are intimately connected. By learning different tools and perspectives, you – and your body - can experience great, beneficial change even if we are dealing with things such as chronic challenges like illness or disability in ourself or those we love. 

 
Note: It's important to note that, when it comes to navigating physical or mental illness, wholeness is different to “cure”. My belief is that we can come to a place of feeling whole, even while we may still be experiencing illness.  Because as we develop the capacity to see our self and our body with compassion and acceptance (one of the hardest things we can ever do)  we can also discover peace about and feel respect for the the things that feel to be failing.   

As with the body, so too with the mind: relinquishing the pattern of self-sabotage and replacing it with tenderness, compassion and respect opens the door to incredible results.

I have just returned from an exceptional 3 day retreat, feeling completely rested and reconnected with myself.  
As a parent and fulltime carer I often put my needs last, in other words self neglect, so to sit by the beautiful Lake Okareka and have nothing or no one else to worry about other than MYSELF was beyond special. I was accepted, appreciated & encouraged to see my worth. 
In caring for others it’s almost inevitable we will become a servant, but I learned that I have my own permission to set aside some time to care for myself.  Why? For me. because I matter too.
 Absolutely recommend other carers take this one weekend out of the year to self serve & reconnect with themselves, a reminder for self care, compassion & relaxation. 
The location, surrounded by nature, nutritious meals, connection, slow pace, absence of demands, quietness.. undoubtably will be something I look forward to yearly. For me.
